Hi bruce,
I couldn't find your email but thought you might want to know about the event in nashville this weekend.

"Thank You Friends"
A Tribute to Alex Chilton & Big Star
Benefiting Musicares Nashville Musicians Flood Relief
DATE/TIME: 9pm, Fri., May 21
PLACE: Mercy Lounge
PRICE: $10 Donation

Featuring: Jody Stephens (Big Star co-founder), Chris Stamey (The db's), Mitch Easter, Brendan Benson (Raconteurs), Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), David Mead, Bill Lloyd, Joe Marc's Brother, David Vandervelde, John Davis (Superdrag), Roman Candle, The Shazam, Michael "Grimey" Grimes, Ken Coomer, Neilson Hubbard, Blue Eyed Blacks and more.

Nashville's Music Community will pay tribute to the pop genius of Memphian Alex Chilton and his seminal band Big Star by gathering onstage at Mercy Lounge for a night of incredible Big Star/Alex Chilton covers (including special one-time only all star band collaborations) honoring his legacy and raising money and awareness for musicians in need. Musicares has recently set up a special fund to help those recently effected by the historic Nashville Flood. Big Star co-founder Jody Stephens is making the trip over from Memphis and Rhino Records has generously donated Big Star box sets and limited edition 7"s for the cause.

The following night, Saturday, May 22, Superdrag will appear at "O My Soul: A Tribute To Alex Chilton" at East Nashville's The 5 Spot. All proceeds will benefit MusiCares, and the bill features Chilton/Box Tops/Big Star songs performed by the likes of Superdrag, Ned Van Go (members of Who Hit John & The Cowards), The Carter Administration (w/Sam Powers!), Derek Hoke, The Red Caps, House Of Wolves (featuring ex-Flesh Vehicle bassist Matt Fuller), The Fuel-Injected Legends and more. It's sure to be a great time, and not to be missed.
